      • This is a general skills assessment to evaluate a candidate’s ICT qualifications and employment
      • You need a qualification comparable to AQF Bachelor’s Degree or higher with an ICT major and 2 years of experience in the last 10 years, or
      • It is necessary to provide a qualification that can be compared to an AQF Bachelor’s Degree or higher with an ICT minor and 5 years of professional experience in the last 10 years, or
      • A qualification that can be compared with AQF Diploma or Vendor Certification, and 5 years of professional experience in the last 10 years

➜ Pathway D – Recognition of Prior Learning

    • This applies to candidates who do not have formal ICT qualifications
    • They need to provide Non ICT qualification comparable to AQF Diploma or higher and 6 years of relevant work experience, or
    • If they don’t have any tertiary qualification, they need to show 8 years of relevant work experience

The CIO ANZSCO duties and responsibilities are planning, organising, directing, controlling, and coordinating the acquisition, development, maintenance, and use of computer and telecommunications systems within organisations.

Skill Level

The indicative skill level for this unit is 1 in Australia and New Zealand. Most occupations in this group require a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification. Formal education can be substituted with at least five years of relevant experience. In some situations, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to formal qualifications (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).

English Requirement

  • IELTS result with a minimum IELTS score of 6 in each band (L, R, W). 7 in speaking and 7 overall
  • OET result with a minimum grade of B in all sections
  • TOEFL iBT with a minimum score (L:12, R:13, W:21, S:23, overall L93)
  • PTE Academic with a min score of 50 (L, R, W), 65 in speaking, and 65 overall
